Wendy Katz was an invaluable resource and guide for me during my transition
from full-time work to retirement. We spoke for about six months during the
period just before I retired. I knew I wanted and needed to retire from my
high pressure job as an appellate attorney. Nevertheless, it was a very
difficult decision for me to finally say that now was the time to do it.
Wendy helped me focus on decisions which had to be made in the present and
also on my future goals for retirement. She helped me talk through and walk
through this process. Every phone session ended with a plan for the week
which might have included such things as looking up opportunities for
courses, researching places to volunteer, making plans to contact my
retirement office and tell my boss, and personal development goals, such as
exercising and eating right. Wendy looks at the whole picture, including
health and family, in helping with retirement decisions. She also provided
a wonderful reading list which I found very helpful. We discussed chapters
in books which helped me focus on specific retirement issues. I retired in
January 2006. I am very happy with retirement. I am busy and fulfilled and
so thankful that I have the time to do things that I want to do while I am
healthy. One thing I try to do every day is to stop and take stock of my
blessings and really think about what I am grateful for. I have Wendy to
thank for that -- and for much more.

Thanks, Mandy! I've been really successful in planning and following
through so far! Not perfect - but managing not to get distracted from my
"A" priorities. I've gotta tell you my stress level is way down and my
confidence and morale are up!

" It is no surprise or coincidence that Lisa Horvitz and I connected. In our
three month relationship, Lisa helped me become aware and acknowledge
things in my life stopping me from moving forward. I am grateful to her and
to this process. Thank you, Lisa, I am growing in leaps and bounds!"

Lisa, I want to thank you for coaching me through relationship issues. You
make it easy for me to talk about things that I have trouble just thinking
about, by being supportive, impartial and nonjudgmental. Your questions
invariably lead me to self-discoveries and then you help me to explore even
more–you have a really great way of hearing what I say and giving it back
to me in other words so that I can clarify, refine and understand more
deeply. Your questions also help me to see the same things from new
perspectives, which is a great thing to be able to do when you are trying
to improve relationships! Thanks so much for your ongoing help.

" The truth is that there are some major things bothering me, but because I
am so busy, I don't give myself any priority in my life, nor do I take the
time to figure out how to change things. I just move along on automatic
pilot, helping everyone else, but myself, getting little satisfaction in
life. My name is Nanci. I did ask myself those two questions just at the
time I met a wonderful "Life Coach". My definition: trainer or director
focused on the life of their client. My Life coach simply encouraged and
assisted me in actually identifying my issues. She then helped me focus on
one, helped me dig deep inside for a rational solution and implement it. It
worked!!! Well, I sat with my new Life Coach, Terri. It took several
discussions for me be willing to discuss personal things like my finances,
and tell her what my problem was. My coach did not judge me, nor did she
tell me what to do, but she did direct my thoughts. She did make me focus,
on just this one problem, and helped me come up with a few solutions to
try. Problems SOLVED!!! With very little pain."

I have worked with Lisa Kirk as my personal Life Coach for over a year. Our
topics have varied from work and Career Development plans to the most
intimate of self-discovery and personal issues.
I have developed a comfort level and confidence with Lisa as a Professional
Coach; feeling free to have totally unguarded conversations that have truly
brought about personal insights. These insights have led to some very
unexpected life improvements.
Lisa has a style and sincerity that is so completely caring, sensitive and
empathetic that she encourages serious introspection and discovery. At the
same time Lisa encourages personal spontaneity, creativity and most of all
fun to the experience.
I find her questions and contributions to be, at all
times constructive and insightful.
As a result of my adventuresome year of self-discovery, I find that I have
made tremendous progress on my initial goals and plans that fell into the
business area.
I absolutely know that I would have never made so
much progress on my own. The very exciting side benefit however, is that
Lisa has allowed and even encouraged our sessions to go in many diverse
directions. I have enhanced my life in many other ways that
I would have never anticipated. I have found a new balance between work and other areas and have enriched my whole life.
The process is phenomenal. To have a coach, mentor, cheerleader, sometimes
bully but at all times someone to push you along is an incredible way to
get past the road blocks in life that somehow keep us from getting to where
we want to go. Lisa Kirk performs these various roles very, very well and
yet with a light and friendly style that makes the process challenging and
exciting.
